SAFETY MANAGER         

Local Trucking Company is looking for a Safety Manager.  This is a full time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Requirements

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Internet & Email
• Time management skills and ability to prioritize work flow
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels within the organization both in person and in writing
• Two years plus experience in transportation safety and operations (beneficial)
• Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA and other regulations (beneficial)

Duties

• Health & Safety Training for Drivers
• Driver Electronic Logs – Assistance, Training & Monitoring
• IFTA reporting
• Managing driver incidents and accidents
• Maintain driver annual performance evaluation files
• Manage and ensure Drug and Alcohol testing program (DOT and Non-DOT) is in full compliance
• Manage, maintain and ensure compliance of all standardized processes for driver background checks pre-employment medical screening, DOT Physicals, licenses, medical certifications & annual reviews
• Maintaining driver DOT files and qualifications to ensure compliance with all FMCSA regulations
• Review/process on all DOT Inspections, Citations and violations; take appropriate action to ensure compliance with regulations
• Develop and maintain efficient safety performance standards, procedures and policies
• Monitor compliance of Fleet operations to ensure that all personnel comply with company administrative policies and procedures, as they apply to DOT compliance
• Complete new hire and DOT employment and background verifications
• Process new hire paperwork to establish electronic personnel files and Driver Qualification Files as applicable
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Answer phone and field incoming calls, and respond to company emails, as applicable

It is not essential that the applicant has to be experienced in a trucking environment, but this would be highly beneficial.  Training will be provided.
