Coming off of their Easter break, the Logan Junior High athletes traveled to Stockton on a hot and windy day on Tuesday, April 11 for the Stockton Invitational track meet.

Eighth grader Graci Bliss led the charge by bringing home two 1st place medals in the 100 m hurdles 17.96 and 100 m dash 14.08 and a second place finish in the long jump 12’7.5”.

Eighth grader Emma Traxler scored two silver medals in the shot put 31’6.5” and javelin 67’3” and 4th in the 1600 m run 8:06.49. Seventh grader Jayla Traxler brought home the gold in the high jump at 4’4”, placed 9th in the long jump 10’11.5” and 12th in the 100 m hurdles 21.88.

Eighth grader Breyer Delimont earned two 3rd place finishes in the shot put with a toss of 30’7” and the discus 58’3”.

Coda Ashmore, sixth grader, earned 8th in the shot 20’3” and 8th in the discus 45’5”. Older sister Cora, eighth grader, placed 5th in the shot 29’.5”, 5th in the 100 m dash 16.61 and 6th in the discus 48’7”.

Sixth grader Kaydee Bolt earned 7th in the high jump 3’6” and 15th in the 100 m dash 16.86.

Eighth grader Hannah Brumbaugh was 10th in the 100 m dash 16.11, 15th in discus 38’9” and 16th in shot put 16’1.5”.

Sixth grader Addie Ellenberger earned 5th in the discus 48’2” and 6th in the shot put 20’9”.

Seventh grader Ximena Ortiz brought home 2nd in the high jump 4’4”, 5th in the long jump 11’7” and 10th in the 100m hurdles 21.37.

Sixth grader Brecken Shellito was 9th in the 100m hurdles 21.20, 9th in the 100m dash 16.08 and 10th in the long jump 10’5”.

Eighth grader Jasmine Shellito earned 10th in the discus 41’3”.

The 7th grade 4x100 m relay team of Jayla Traxler, Ortiz, Brecken Shellito and Brumbugh placed 2nd with a time of 1:03.41, and the 8th grade team of Bliss, Jasmine Shellito, Cora Ashmore, and Emma Traxler earned 2nd with a time of 1:04.56.

On the boys side, eighth grader Taden Gottschalk snagged two gold medals in the high jump 4’10” and javelin 105’1” and placed 3rd in the 100 m dash 13.19.

Seventh grader Brennan Loyd-Counter followed suit with two gold medals in the shot put 32’.25” and discus 115’5” and placed 8th in the javelin 61’.

Eighth grader Buster States captured the gold in the 400 m dash 1:03.98 and two silvers in the high jump 4’8” and long jump 14’11.5”.

Other competitors included Jeffery Bliss who was 6th in the high jump 4’, 7th in the 100 m hurdles 22.83 and 10th in the long jump 11’7.5”.

Sixth grader Keegan Breese placed 9th in the high jump at 3’8”.

Seventh grader Easton Gottschalk placed 5th in the javelin 68’11” and 6th in the 100 m hurdles 21.72.

6th grader Clay Grammon threw 44’4.75” in the discus with classmates John Sparks throwing 21’2” in the shot put and running 20.27 in the 100 m dash and Hunter Vahling placing 3rd in the 100 m hurdles 19.90, 5th in the 100 m dash 14.92 and 6th in the long lump 12’4.5”. Jayce Wiltfong placed 8th in the high jump 3’10” and 9th in the 100 m hurdles 24.52.

Seventh grader Jasper States placed 6th in the shot put 24’10.5”, 6th in the javelin 65’6”, 6th in the discus 74’4.5” and 10th in the 100 m dash 16.74.

The 4x100 m relay team made up of Easton Gottschalk, Bliss, Loyd-Counter and Vahling placed 4th 1:00.27.

Logan JH track - Husky Invite 4-13-23

On Thursday, April 13 the Logan Junior High track team traveled back to Stockton for the Husky Invite. It was a good day for the Trojans as the 7th/8th grade boys placed 4th, the 7th/8th grade girls 3rd and the 6th graders placed 2nd all in team totals.

The 6th graders finally got the chance to compete against other 6th graders. For shot put Coda Ashmore placed 3rd 21’5¼” and Addison Ellenberger placed 6th 10’1 ¼”. Both girls also placed in the discus with Ashmore 2nd at 53’11” and Ellenberger 4th with 50’2”. In the high jump, Brecken Shellito placed 2nd at 3’6”. Shellito also placed 3rd in the 100 m hurdles with a time of 20.33.

On the boys side, Logan dominated the shot put with Westen Ruff placing first with a throw of 28’8” and John Sparks placing 2nd at 24’1¾”. Both boys also placed in the discus with Ruff throwing 58’11” for 3rd and Sparks following with 53’9” for 4th. Jeffery Bliss brought home two third place finishes in the long jump with a leap of 12’5 1/2” and in the high jump at 4’2”. Jayce Wiltfong placed 6th in the high jump at 3’8”. Hunter Vahling took home the gold in the 100 hurdles with a time of 19.29 and Jace Wiltfong took 6th with a time of 24.16. Vahling also took 5th in the 400 m run with a time of 1:22.2. The 6th grade boys also took first in the 4x100 relay with a time of 1:06.

For the JH girls, Breyer Delimont, Emma Traxler and Cora Ashmore went 1-2-3 in the shot put with tosses of 34’6”, 31’2 ½” and 28’7” respectively. Ashmore earned 2nd in discus with a distance of 65’4” and Traxler got 6th with 56’3 ½”. Gracie Bliss took 5th in the long jump at 12’9” and Jayla Traxler followed with 6th place at 12’6”. Ximena Ortiz took the gold in the high jump with a leap of 4/4”. Bliss took the gold in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.83 and second in the 100 m dash at 13.78. They also earned 2nd in their 4x100 relay with a time of 1:01.8 and 4th in their 4x200 with 2:43.1.

For the JH boys, Brennen Lloyd-Counter took 5th in the shot put with a heave of 30’11” and first in the discus with a distance of 112’4”. Jasper States followed in the discus with a throw of 79’1” for 6th. Buster States leaped to 3rd place in the long jump at 14’9 ¼”. Taden Gottschalk earned the gold in the high jump at 5’0” and States got 4th at 4’4”. Easton Gottschalk ran for 3rd in the 100 hurdles with a time of 12.61 and Taden earned 3rd in the 100 with a time of 12.61.

Next action for the Logan junior high will be Thursday, April 10 in Osborne.
