On April 11th the Northern Valley High School Track & Field team traveled to Colby for the Triplains Meet. A total of twelve teams competed. The NV Girls placed 6th scoring 33 points as a team. Bringing home medals were Angel Joppa with 2nd in the Long Jump and Mary Bard with 3rd in the High Jump.
The NV Boys came home with 2nd place scoring 85 points as a team. Bringing home medals were Owen Hammond with 1st in the 100M Hurdles and High Jump, Kenton Thalheim with 1st in the Pole Vault and 3rd in the 800M, Gavin Thalheim with 3rd in the Javelin, Gabriel Rudd with 1st in the Long Jump, and the 4x400m Relay team with 1st ran by Brian Bencomo, Owen Hammond, Gabriel Rudd, and Kenton Thalheim.

Friday, the Northern Valley High School Track & Field team traveled complete in the Hill City Track Meet. Bringing home medals for the girls was Audrey Bina with 2nd in the Triple Jump and 4th in the 200m. Bringing home medals for the boys were Kenton Thalheim with 1st in Pole Vault and 4th in the 800m, Brian Bencomo with 2nd in the 400m, Gavin Thalheim with 2nd in the Pole Vault, and the boys 4x400m Relay team with 3rd.

Coach Hansen, “Tuesday was a beautiful day with the Huskies doing very well. The boys placed 2nd as a team with a season high of 85 points. Friday was a harder track meet against bigger schools but the kids still performed well with three athletes breaking the finals in the 100m and 200m. The Thalheim brothers took 1st and 2nd in the pole vault.”
Next Friday the Huskies will travel to Osborne for the Kaiser Relays Track Meet.
