The Logan/Palco Trojans had a busy week at the WKLL High School Basketball Tournament.

The #4 seed Lady Trojans were matched against the #5 seed Northern Valley Huskies in the first round of play at Grinnell. While the girls hoped to avenge their loss to the Huskies in December, they weren't able to do so and lost by 12 points 49-61. Lylah Voss and Ansley Delimont each scored 15 points in the contest.

The next round of action saw the Lady Trojans playing Western Plains/Healy for the third time this season. In their first meeting at the Castle Rock Classic, the Trojans won by a 20-point margin. Their second match-up looked a bit different in Ransom as the Bobcats crept back into the game, and the Trojans only won by 3. The Trojans were back on their game though on Friday night and won 54-36, which put them in the 5th place game against Triplains/Brewster. (No stats available at time of printing.)

The final games of the tournament were moved to Wakeeney, and the ladies played the first game at 11 am. They were able to capitalize against the Titans and won 41-26. Mara Kats and Lylah Voss each scored 10 points with Voss also grabbing 14 rebounds.

During the tournament, three Logan and two Palco seniors were also presented with All-Academic Awards including Ansley Delimont, Hayden Gottstine, Cydnee Rider, Annaliese Roy and Kenzie Wells. To receive this award, seniors were required to have participated in six (6) KSHSAA sports and six (6) non-athletic league activities recognized by the KSHSAA or the KSDE up to the second semester of their senior year. All candidates had to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.70 or better to be eligible and this G.P.A. was cumulative up to the second semester of their senior year.
