PHS Forensics brings home another championship

The PHS forensics team competed in the Sylvan-Lucas tournament on Thursday, February 15th, where they won their second team championship of the season. Phillipsburg scored 171 points for first, Ellsworth came in second with 95 points, and Republic County finished third with 88 points.

Twenty out of the 24 total entries from Phillipsburg advanced to finals where the top six places earn medals and the top two placers qualify for State competition in May. The top individual point earner for Phillipsburg was Layton Johnson who placed first in humorous solo, first in IDA (with partner Jaxon Glendening), and third in informative. The Panthers will compete again in Norton on Saturday, March 2nd for the Winter Jam Tournament, and then they will be at home on Monday, March 4th for the MCL tournament.
