Two for two for PHS forensics squad

The Phillipsburg High School forensics team placed second in back-to-back tournaments. On Saturday, March 2nd, a squad of 23 students traveled to Norton for the Winter Jam tournament. The Panthers brought home 16 medals and finished second as a team behind Norton who placed first.

The team was back in action on Monday, March 4th, as Phillipsburg hosted the MCL tournament. Eight of the 11 MCL schools participated, and Phillipsburg placed second at that tournament behind Norton who placed first. Smith Center placed third, and Ellis placed 4th.

Phillipsburg highlights of the MCL tournament include PHS sweeping the event of Prose with a gold-medal finish for freshman Lydia Walker and a silver-medal finish for junior Kaitlyn Rothe. Phillipsburg also brought home the championship in Humorous Solo with senior Layton Johnson’s gold-medal performance.
