PHS Publications students finish second in regional contest

The Phillipsburg High School Publications Department competed in the annual Kansas Scholastic Press Association (KSPA) Regional Contest on Monday, Feb. 19.

In the contests, publication students put their skills to the test by creating stories, taking photos and designing elements such as yearbook spreads, information graphics and newspaper pages. The entries were evaluated by judges across the state.

The team finished second in the regional competition with 37 entries out of 42 placing to move on to the state competition. The state competition will be held remotely this year on Monday, April 15.

Those students who placed in the regional competition will put their skills to the test again with the hopes of capturing the state title.
