Shayne Theobald (March 27, 1966 - June 21, 2024)
Shayne Patrick Theobald son of Kelley Theobald and Marilyn (Goscha) Schrum was born March 27th, 1966 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Shayne passed away at his home in Glendale, Arizona on June 21st, 2024 at the age of 58.
Shayne attended elementary and junior high school at Norton, Kansas and graduated high school from Phillipsburg High School in Phillipsburg, Kansas. Shayne obtained his accounting degree from Fort Hays State University. After graduation Shayne moved to Arizona and became a partner at Schumann, Adriana and Company.
Shayne enjoyed hunting with friends and cousins in New Mexico even though these excursions often ended in just elk sightings. Shayne spent many Labor Days in Norton playing golf with his stepdad, brother, and brother in law. During these golf outings, Shayne was best known as the ball hunter. His nieces and nephews have cherished memories of him making them squeal during a competitive game of Farkle. Shayne cheered on the Kansas City Chiefs. He was an avid fan and often watched the games multiple times.
Survivors include: his mother Marilyn Schrum and stepdad Bill Schrum, Phillipsburg, KS; stepmom Pat Theobald, Belaire, Michigan; brothers Curt Theobald, Topeka, Ks; Brett, and wife, Jessica Schrum, Wichita, KS; sisters Kayla, and husband, JR Mendoza, Plains, KS; Tricia Harvey, Belaire, Michigan; 11 nieces and nephews and 6 grandnephews/grandnieces; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Shayne is preceded in death by: his father Kelley Theobald; stepbrother Brad Schrum; grandparents Leo and Teresa Goscha; grandparents John and Metta Theobald; grandparents Burt and Betty Schrum and beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cremation was chosen. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Norton Cemetery with Pastor Joel Hiesterman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shayne Theobald Memorial Fund.
