Thunder Ridge sports teams have full week of competition

On October 10, the Thunder Ridge Cross Country team competed fiercely in Phillipsburg, showcasing their determination and talent. The girls put forth an impressive effort with standout performances from several runners. Hannah Nelson, sophomore, finished strong, clocking in a remarkable time that was 30 seconds faster than her previous best on this course, while Irene Tilton, junior, secured an impressive 4th place finish. Freshman, Addie Molzahn, also contributed to the team's success with a solid 7th place finish. Their hard work and dedication not only highlighted their individual achievements, but also strengthened the team’s spirit as they continue to push towards their goals this season. The runners will compete in their NPL meet at Lakeside this Thursday, October 17.

The Thunder Ridge Football team celebrated a thrilling victory for their home game this last week, defeating St. Johns-Tipton with a commanding score of 44-22. From the start, the Thunder Ridge players showcased their skill and teamwork. They made significant contributions, turning pivotal moments into scoring opportunities that energized the crowd. This impressive win not only marks the first win of their season, but also sets a promising tone for the games ahead, as the team looks to build on this momentum in the weeks to come. They will be playing at Scandia this upcoming Friday, October 18.

The Thunder Ridge volleyball team faced a challenging day as they fell to Rock Hills, Osborne, and Stockton on Saturday, October 12, in a tough series of matches for the NPL Tournament. Despite their best efforts and determination, the team struggled to find their rhythm, with each opponent bringing their own strengths to the court. Even in defeat, the players demonstrated resilience and teamwork, learning valuable lessons that they can build upon as they prepare for their upcoming games. With a focus on improvement, the Thunder Ridge squad is eager to regroup and come back stronger in their next matches in Beloit on Tuesday, October 15.
