150th cross walks
The dynamic duo of Emilee Cole and Annie Weishaar exhibited their determination as a team to help highlight downtown Phillipsburg in preparation for the 150th anniversary celebration happening in Phillips County this week. With a goal of completing 8 crosswalks by August 6, the girls struck out to work on the hottest days of the year so far! After completing the crosswalk at the stop-light corner during those two incredibly hot days, they enjoyed the shade provided by the Majestic Theater on the next anniversary banner crosswalk; completing it between rain showers over the next few days. Working past dark, they finalized two more walks on the northeast corner of the square, bringing them to their half-way mark on Saturday. Residents will undoubtedly see them during this week as they race toward their goal date of August 6 and the celebration on Saturday morning. Two other crosswalks are being decorated by another team, bringing the total to 10 painted walks ushering attendees into the courthouse square from all sides. If you see either of these teams painting, shout an encouraging word to them!
