The Logan FFA chapter attended the Dairy Cattle CDE today at Colby

The Logan FFA students proudly represented their chapter by participating in dairy evaluation. While competition often highlights placements and awards, the true value of this event was found in the experience, growth, and effort each student put forth.
Dairy cattle evaluation challenges students to carefully observe animals, make thoughtful decisions, and then defend those decisions in front of a judge. Perhaps one of the hardest parts is preparing and delivering reasons -a set of memorized justifications -within just a few short minutes. Standing in front of a stranger and confidently explaining those reasons is no small task, and it teaches student skills that go far beyond the agriculture arena.
The event is not just about who places highest, but about the lessons learned: critical thinking, quick recall, public speaking, and the ability to stay composed under pressure. Each student who participated walked away with more knowledge about the dairy industry and with improved confidence in their own abilities.
The hard work, dedication, and the courage shown today is what makes FFA such a valuable organization.
Placings fade, but the skills gained -both in agriculture and in personal growth -will benefit these students for lifetime.
