Lady Panther Wrestling Team Brings Home Hardware From Major Tournaments

The Phillipsburg Panthers Girls Wrestling Team had a strong day at the Lady Eagle Invitational, finishing 2nd as a team, which is the first time in school history the girls wrestling team has placed at a tournament.

Kaitlyn McCreery took 1st place at 190 pounds, and Kynlee Griffin also earned 1st place at 140 pounds. At the same weight class, Kihynna Steelsmith placed 3rd, and Hayleigh Watt finished 4th.

Jemma Thomas placed 2nd at 145 pounds, while Johnna Ebner earned 3rd place at 155 pounds. Izzy Epley finished 3rd at 170 pounds, and Kamrie Chestnut placed 3rd at 135 pounds. Caydence Ewing ended with a 6th-place finish at 105 pounds.

The Phillipsburg Panthers Girls Wrestling Team competed at the Abilene High School Girls Invitational and came away with several solid finishes.

At 135 pounds, Kamrie Chestnut placed 4th. Kynley Griffin earned a 3rd-place finish at 140 pounds, while Jemma Thomas placed 2nd at 145 pounds. At 155 pounds, Johnna Ebner finished 4th, and Kaitlyn McCreery earned 2nd place at 190 pounds.

The Panthers continued to gain experience and build momentum as the season moves forward
