Panthers drop non-district game against Pratt
The Panther varsity football team played against Pratt on Friday, Oct. 7.
The Panthers started the second quarter down 0-21, but recovered thanks to senior offensive linemen Braxtyn Shields, Blayze Christy and Cole Shelton creating openings against the Greenbacks.
In doing so, senior fullback Blake Buresh found the opening for the Panthers’ first touchdown of the game.
In the second half, the team kept strong, matching the Greenbacks’ point gains in the third and fourth quarters. In the third quarter, senior quarterback Colin Springer rushed it to the side for a touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, the team gained two touchdowns with junior kicker Zane Shields clearing the bonus point.
The team ended the night with a loss of 34-62.
Senior Colin Springer gained 107 of the team's rushing yards out of 371 yards.
The Panthers’ will play Norton, Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:00 p.m..
