Logan debuts new 6-man football

The Logan Trojans debuted their 6-man skills against the Huskies from Northern Valley in their season-opener at home on Friday. In a back and forth game, the Trojans battled from behind in the 4th quarter to secure the win 43-32. Interestingly, Max Schick, long-time Phillips County resident, Logan alum and father-in-law of Coach Mike Jenner, told fans in the crowd that this was not the first time Logan had participated at this level. Max played 6-man when he was in high school. He graduated in 1946 and in May, celebrated his 80th class reunion.

Junior quarterback Easton Gottschalk completed 4 of 6 passes for 61 yards and a touchdown, and senior Taden Gottschalk ran for 259 yards on 16 carries and 3 touchdowns. Junior Jasper States had 2 receptions for 51 yards. Defensively, Taden Gottschalk and senior Buster States each tallied 13 tackles, and Easton Gottschalk had 10.
