Putting the moves on the Bobcat defense, sophomore Jeffery Bliss slips past his defenders and picks up a huge gain for the Trojans.
The Trojans hosted Western Plains on Friday and picked up their second win of the season. Their offensive effort proved bountiful as they took it to the Bobcats and put 50 points on the scoreboard before halftime. The Trojan defense held the Bobcats scoreless. Senior Taden Gottschalk ran for 136 yards on 9 carries along with a punt return for 5 touchdowns, and sophomore Jeffery Bliss ran for 54 yards on 3 carries and scored once. Junior Jasper States caught a 24-yard pass. Defensively, Easton Gottschalk and Buster States each had 10 tackles. The boys will travel to Otis-Bison next Friday, Sept. 18.
After the game, marking 25 years of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the community honored the area first responders including the Firemen from Logan and Prairie View, the Phillips County EMS, and the Phillips County Sheriff's Office.
Additionally, the Logan Junior High Social Studies classes displayed their colorful paper chain in the concession stand area, with each link representing one of the 2,977 lives lost on 9/11.
