Laurin Advances to State Golf

At the regional golf meet at Colby on Monday, May 18, Phillipsburg golfers earned a ninth-place finish as a team out of 13 teams.

Seventy individual golfers participated. Junior Mason Laurin finished with a tie for second, which earned him a trip to the state golf tournament in Topeka May 26-27. Laurin shot an 81, which was one stroke off of the leader.

Other finishers for Phillipsburg were sophomore Cooper Gower, who just missed advancing by several strokes, shot an 87 and tied for 16; senior Cole Shelton shot a 96 to tie for 34; sophomore Corbin Sammons shot a 115 to finish at 60; sophomore Owen Miller shot 115 to tie for 61 and sophomore Kelcie Jacobs shot 119 for a tie for 66th.
