Lady Panthers capture win against Hoisington but fall to league foe Smith Center
The Lady Panthers faced Hoisington at home on Jan. 27, and put together a strong offensive performance, finishing with 57 total points.
Junior Chloe Jacobs led the Panthers with 11 points and a team-high 10 rebounds while also adding in four assists.
Senior Chloe VanDerVeen and sophomore Tessa Ragsdale added 11 points, sophomore Emalee Russell also provided a big boost with 10 points and nine rebounds, senior Natalie Fischer and junior Brooke Hanchett chipped in six points.
As a team, Phillipsburg shot and hit nine three-pointers, helping fuel their performance against Hoisington.
The Panthers ended up winning 57-51.
The Lady Panthers traveled to face Smith Center on Jan. 30 and came up just short in a hard-fought 31–29 loss.
Russell led Phillipsburg with nine points and seven rebounds, while VanDerVeen added three points and five rebounds. Fischer contributed three points, nine rebounds, and four assists, helping lead the Panthers’ effort on both ends of the floor. Jacobs also pulled down seven rebounds and added three points.
