Rain Delay Doesn't Stop Trojan Football
Preparing for the kick-off in the pouring rain, Brennan Loyd-Counter lines up the ball with teammates Weston Ruff, Henry States and Tobin Kats ready to head down the field.
The long trip and pouring rain didn't deter the Trojans as they played brought their A-game to Chase last night.
After a one-hour storm delay, the Trojans dominated the field and won 59-0, bringing their record to 3-1 on the season. Junior Easton Gottschalk threw for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns, while senior Taden Gottschalk ran for 141 yards and found the end zone 3 times in the game.
Freshman Henry States caught a 49-yard pass and scored, with other scores coming from senior Buster States and freshman Gunnar Ashmore each with two touchdowns. T. Gottschalk and H. States each had 6 tackles, and the freshmen stepped up with States, Ashmore and Tobin Kats each recovering a fumble.
States also blocked a punt and intercepted a pass.
The Trojans will be back at home next Friday, Oct. 2 as they host Pawnee Heights.
