Panther Middle School hosts Junior Panther Classic

The Phillipsburg Junior High wrestlers recently hosted their Junior Panther Classic tournament.

The girls’ team placed 5th with 88 points. Some wrestlers who scored big were Ellie McClain, who placed 2nd at 100 pounds and scored 20 points, and Preston Hilburn, who placed 3rd at 105 pounds with 20 points as well. Ella Knowles and Adley Epley both placed 2nd and earned more points for the team.

On the boys’ side, they placed 2nd with a score of 159 points. Wrestlers who scored big included Clay Thomas, who placed 1st and earned 24 points for the team, as well as Bryson Shaw. Others, such as Blake Rothe, Cooper Griffin, and James Johnson, all placed 2nd. Many more placed 3rd and 4th to help the team.
