Phillipsburg girls' basketball faces tough competition as they prepare for post season

The Lady Panthers faced the Hill City Ringnecks on February 3 and won with the score of 28–25.

Senior Chloe VanDerVeen led Phillipsburg with 13 points and added two rebounds. Senior Natalie Fischer contributed two points and grabbed six rebounds while also adding two assists and two steals.

Sophomore Tessa Ragsdale chipped in four points and four rebounds, while junior Chloe Jacobs added two points and five rebounds.

The Lady Panthers traveled to Beloit on Feb. 6, to face the Trojans but fell 65-46.

VanDerVeen led the Panthers with 19 points and seven rebounds. Junior Brooke

Hanchett added six points, while Fischer contributed five points along with four

rebounds and four steals. Sophomore Emalee Russell chipped in four points and five rebounds, and Ryleigh Seems added seven points.

Although the Lady Panthers came up short, they continued to compete and show effort on the road against a tough team.

The Lady Panthers took on Alma Cardinals on Feb. 12, but fell short with the score being 53-32.

Phillipsburg battled hard, but Alma pulled away as the game went on.

VanDerVeen led the Panthers with 12 points and six rebounds. Junior Ryleigh Seems added 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds.Fischer contributed four points and four rebounds.

Despite the loss, the Lady Panthers continued to compete and showed effort on both ends of the floor throughout the game.
