Trojans Dominate Game with Former Teammates, Palco

What used to be their second home at Palco, the Trojans took the field Friday night as the opponent, ready to play against their former teammates.

The Trojans jumped to the early lead, and while the Roosters scored a few times, the Trojans were able to widen the gap and finish with a 62-14 score in the 3rd quarter.

Quarterback Easton Gottschalk completed 7 of 9 passes for 115 yards and 4 touchdowns. Taden Gottschalk ran for 107 yards on 8 carries with one run into the endzone. Senior Buster States scored on a big 49-yard reception, with other receiving scores from Taden Gottschalk (2), Henry States and Brennan Loyd-Counter. Freshman Gunnar Ashmore picked up a fumble, and with some great blocks from his teammates, found the endzone for the score, and Taden Gottschalk turned on the speed scoring on a kick-off return.

Buster States led defensively with 9 tackles on the night, followed by Henry States with 8 and Taden Gottschalk with 7.

The boys will head west next Friday as they travel to Bird City to play the Cougars.
