If you're looking for something fun, interactive, and educational to do before summer comes to an end, be sure to visit the Hansen Museum and experience our current exhibit, Going Places: The Technology of Transport.
This hands-on exhibition has quickly become a favorite with visitors of all ages. Children love climbing aboard the interactive displays, testing their skills on the bicycle simulator, piloting an airship, navigating a hovercraft, and discovering what it takes to control different forms of transportation. Adults enjoy learning about the science and engineering behind the technology while often finding themselves joining in the fun right alongside the kids. It's one of those rare exhibits where learning happens naturally through play and exploration.
While you're making plans to visit the museum, don't forget to mark your calendar for one of Logan's favorite summer traditions—the 51st Annual Hansen Museum Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday, August 15.
The excitement continues to build as we now have 50 talented crafters registered to display and sell their handcrafted items around the Museum. From beautiful home décor and woodworking to jewelry, seasonal decorations, specialty foods, and unique gifts, there truly will be something for everyone.
Adding to the experience will be eight artisan demonstrators stationed around the museum and downtown Logan, including the Logan Service Station and the Logan Library. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch artisans demonstrate a variety of skills, including quilting, chainsaw carving, oil painting, and watercolor painting. It's a wonderful opportunity to see artists at work, ask questions, and gain an appreciation for the talent and craftsmanship behind each creation.
The fair will also feature live music on two stages throughout the day, creating a festive atmosphere as you shop and explore. Children can enjoy a variety of inflatable attractions, making it a fun-filled day for the entire family.
Admission to both the museum and the Arts & Crafts Fair is always free. Whether you come to explore the Going Places exhibit, shop for one-of-a-kind handmade treasures, watch talented artisans demonstrate their crafts, enjoy the live music, or simply spend time with family and friends, we invite you to make the Hansen Museum part of your summer.
